Transactional Analysis (TA) was developed by psychiatrist Eric Berne. TA is a form of modern psychology which explores individuals, relationships and interactions. In therapy TA can be used to address the way we communicate with and react to others.
I can help you explore how you interact, and what ego state you or another may be communicating from. It can help you to understand why you, and those you are communicating with may feel uncomfortable, or become angry and defensive.
As adults, our feelings and behaviour are rooted from our childhood experiences. Our behaviour can have a deep-rooted cause which is normally unconscious. In therapy I will support you to understand the connections between your past experience's and your current problems.
CBT Focuses is on how we think, feel, and behave and how our thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes affect our feelings and actions. CBT can help us be aware of and then challenge our self- critical voice which can prevent us from moving forward.
This was developed by Carl Rogers who believed that given the right conditions, a person can reach their full potential and become their true self.
When I apply person-centred counselling, I see you as an individual and listen to you without judgment. I will sit alongside you and support you, and help you to feel empowered to accept personal growth and self-value.
This is your safe space to bring what ever you need to bring and to explore those difficulties with me.
